Matthew Ferrara joined the firm in 2011. His practice focuses on the ongoing process of estate planning for clients of all ages and needs, including, the preparation of Wills, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney; planning for newlyweds and new parents; Medicaid planning; and planning and coordinating charitable giving and long-term gifting strategies. Additionally, Matt works with entrepreneurs and business owners to assist them with business planning.
Matt is admitted to practice law in Michigan and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He is a former President of the Michigan Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, is a member of the Probate and Elder Law Sections of the State Bar of Michigan, and a member of the American Bar Association.
As part of his practice, Matt seeks to be an advocate for the estate planning process, and through partnerships with community groups, Michigan-based credit unions, and financial planners he regularly speaks to the public in an effort to educate as many people as possible on the subject. Additionally, he participates in the Wayne State University Advocates for Warriors program, which provides free legal support to military service members, veterans, and the family members of both.
Matt received his Juris Doctor, from Wayne State University Law School where he was a member of the Wayne State Moot Court. He received his undergraduate degree in Theatre Design and Technical Production from Western Michigan University. In his spare time, he and his wife enjoy hiking, camping, and enjoying Michigan’s many State Parks.
